Our Front Office Staff is dedicated to making your visit a pleasant one. They are an important liason between our clients and our medical team. They are available to assist in appointment scheduling, medicine refill requests and processing payments.


Brianna Cady

Brianna recently moved here from the lower 48 with her husband and two dogs Tito and Bear. She spends her free time exploring her new home, cooking, and hiking.


Caitlyn Elgin

Caitlyn grew up here in North Pole, Alaska and has been working in the veterinary front office for three years. Caitlyn and her husband John are pet parents to dog Leo and cat Ivy who keep their lives full of entertainment. Outside of work Caitlyn enjoys all of the outdoor activities Alaska has to offer such as camping, fishing, hiking and skijoring. Caitlyn could not imagine calling everywhere else home.


Sydney Koontz

Sydney has just moved back to North Pole from attending college in Colorado, where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree that she hopes to use to get into graduate school. Sydney is from South Carolina, and hopes to open her own clinical psychology practice in North Carolina one day with her fiance and 2 dogs.


Monica Leitzke

Monica joined the North Pole Veterinary Hospital team in July of 2020 after spending 12 years working as a groomer. Monica has spent most of her life after high school working in the animal field. Monica was born and raised right here in North Pole, Alaska. She and her fiancé Carl own a few pets which include a pug, a rabbit, a hamster and a rooster all of which they love to spend time with. When not working Monica loves to spend her time baking and loving on her pets. Monica absolutely loves working in the animal field and hopes to work towards becoming a licensed veterinarian technician.


Olivia Armond

Olivia joined the reception team at North Pole Veterinary Hospital in May of 2021. Olivia was born and raised in Washington where she met and eventually married her high school sweetheart, Ben. Olivia has found herself living all over the place due to her husband’s job in the Air Force but they particularly love Alaska as this is their second time being stationed in the state. Olivia is a lover of many animals but particularly loves dogs, cats and rats. Olivia has three black labs and one tuxedo cat at home. When not at work Olivia spends most of her time with adorable 2 year old son enjoying their everyday adventures. Ultimately Olivia and her family hope to retire in southern Alaska on a lot of land with many animals and maybe even a hot tub to relax in.


Hannah Elgas

Hannah moved from her hometown in Michigan and joined the North Pole Veterinary team during the summer of 2021. Hannah wanted a new adventure and scenery so she and her boyfriend moved here to North Pole. Hannah plans to further her vet knowledge and experience by beginning to take her first vet technician courses, she hopes to ultimately become a licensed veterinarian technician. Hannah has a big love for animals, especially elephants and her two dogs at home. Hannah, when not at work she loves to spend her time with her dogs relaxing and occasionally baking them some delicious treats.


Brittney Turner

Brittney comes to North Pole Veterinary Hospital from Tucson, Arizona with her dog Trigger. She found her way to Alaska due to her boyfriend’s job in the National Guard and has fallen in love with it ever since. Brittney loves spending her time being outdoors through activities like hiking, fishing, four wheeling and bonfires. Brittney believes there is no other fishing like the fishing you can do right here in Alaska. Ultimately Brittney hopes to further her vet knowledge and perhaps one day use it to become a licensed vet tech. For right now Brittney loves working at the vet and expanding her knowledge until she goes off to bootcamp in the upcoming year for the Air National Guard.


Abigail Bostic

Abbey has been with North Pole Veterinary Hospital since August of 2021. Abbey was born and raised right here in North Pole, Alaska where she attended Star of the North. Abbey has always had a soft spot for animals and ultimately hopes to one day obtain her veterinarian technician licensure. As a kid growing up here locally Abbey spent a lot of time being involved with 4-H club where she participated in raising market projects to show at the Tanana Valley State Fair for auction. Abbey and her husband now own a production farm of sheep and lambs to breed and sell to local 4-H kids to use as their market and breeding projects. Abbey also owns a Llama and alpaca, 4 geese and too many chickens.


Mehgan Howard

Mehgan became a member of the North Pole Veterinary Hospital team in August of 2021. Mehgan was born and raised locally in Fairbanks, Alaska where she attended West Valley High School and is currently continuing her education at the University of Alaska Fairbanks where she hopes to earn her BA in Justice. Mehgan has two dogs and 3 ferrets but loves to be around all types of animals. Within the veterinary field Mehgan hopes to pursue a career where she can work even more with small exotics and large animal medicine. Mehgan loves working at North Pole Vet and cannot wait to continue to meet all the wonderful animals that come into the clinic every day.

Patrick has a Masters degree in Education from WSU and is owner of North Pole Veterinary Hospital.

Suze Nolan, LVT, MEd

Suze has been a licensed veterinary technician since 2008 and Practice Manager since 2019. Her professional interests include education, behavior, and the human-animal bond. Suze and Kevin enjoy exploring Alaska’s trails and waterways with their dogs Cootie the Shih Tzu and Bug the Doodle. Brunhilde Plumbum Feline Extraordinaire keeps the house in order while they are out and about.

Shar Smith

Shar recently relocated to Alaska from Washington State with her family. She has a business administration degree and an MBA in Human Resources. When she is not at work; Shar enjoys hiking, baking, and spending time with her husband and two sons. She also loves exploring the trails with her two five-year-old Golden Retrievers, Riley and Chewie, and her 17-year-old Beagle, Cody.
